NPCapproves 17 contracts worth AFN 2.1 billion

The National Procurement Commission at its 145th meeting, chaired by President Ghani, approved 17 contracts with the total value of AFN 2.1 billion and issued decision on airlift of Hajis – pilgrims to Makka – to Saudi Arabia by Kam Air and Aryana Airlines, and procuremt challenges of residential projects of Khwaja Rawash and Khushal Khan Mina.

The commission approved procurement of 16 items of cereal and one item of rice required for regional and central units and detachments of the Afghan National Army through framework agreement.

The commission reviewed its previous decision on giving equal shares to Kam Air and Ariana Airlines companies for airlift of Hajis to Saudi Arabia and agreed that final decision should be made during the meeting between the president and leading board of Ariana Airlines to airlift Hajis to its best possiblity.

Also, the commision approved the recommendations of Ministry of Urban Development Affairs and Housing to address challenges to final procurement, financial and technical estimation of residential projects of Khwaja Rawash and Khushal Khan Mina.

In addtion, Ministry of Defense presented the results of its assessments on domestic rice production companies in the meeting. President Ghani reiterated on motivating and support of domestic companies.

The meeting was attended by national and international observers from Parliamentary Anti-Corruption Caucus, Integrity Watch Afghanistan; National Economy, Budgetary and Finance commisions of the House of People as well as representatives of SIGAR and CSTC-A of the Resolute Support Mission.
