HEC approves National Export Strategy, establishment of Large Taxpayer Office

The High Economic Council at its meeting, chaired by President Ghani, approved National Export Strategy and establishment of the Large Taxpayer Office. The council members extended discussion on investment plan of Rawan Motors Company, land request for Muhib Group Company, and investment on talc mining sector.

President Ghani underscoring the importance of Afghan products’ export iterated that export figures must be exact and clear and problems in this area need to be determined. He stressed on addressing the export challenges and asked the private sector to prepare an all-inclusive analysis on exports.

To track the issue, the council issued its decision on holding a meeting, chaired by the chief executive of the National Unity Government, to seek substantial solutions in this regard and to work further on its mechanism.

The NES aims to enhance production and ensure the private sector’s flexibility for quality production, provide investment and employment grounds, gain support in markets, strengthen organizational capacity, support the government and ensure peace; all through economic growth. 

HEC conducted a multifaceted discussion on the establishment plan of Large Taxpayer Office, presented by the Finance Ministry, and ratified it.

In addition, the council issued required instructions after exchanging views about the investment plan of Rawan Motors Company, request for land by Muhib Group Company as an effort to expand construction factory, and plan for investment in talc mining sector.

In order to support initiatives on talc, the president issued directive that Sheikh Mesri Park in Jalalabad should be turned to the Talc Park and export potential of this product should be scrutinized and assessed.
