Cabinet Approves the Operational Plan Deadlines for Brussels Conference Commitments

The cabinet of Islamic Republic of Afghanistan, while endorsing the operational plan deadlines for the commitments of Brussels conference, obligated the Ministry of Finance to receive progress reports on the commitments from ministries and government offices, and present them in the cabinet meetings. 

Eklil Ahmad Hakimi, the minister of Finance, said that according to the cabinet’s decision the Ministry of Finance in coordination with the relevant bodies set up operational plan deadlines for the Brussels conference commitments.

The plan covers areas of governance; fight against corruption; financial reforms; national action plan; establishment of special court for combating violence against women; citizen charter; recruitment of 1200 C.B.R positions; public administration reform program; adaptive plan for private and public partnership; acquisition laws and land regulation; amendment in mines law; simplification of public services delivery; reforms in private sector investment; and expediting procurement process.

The minister added that this plan intended to fulfill 15 of the country's commitments made at the Brussels conference along with their deadlines proposals.

The cabinet, while endorsing the operational plan deadlines for the commitments of Brussels conference, obligated ministries and government offices to present regularly their progress report on the commitments to the Ministry of Finance, and the Ministry of Finance will present them in the cabinet meetings.
